Welcome to Learn English with Moody (the "Service", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
We provide an online platform that connects English language students with teachers for one-on-one private lessons and group classes delivered remotely (e.g. via Zoom).
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have parental consent, to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information during signup and keep it up to date.
3. Lessons and Bookings
- Free trial lessons are available once per student.
- Paid lessons require a valid lesson package or credit balance at time of booking.
- Bookings are confirmed by email and shown in your student dashboard.
4. Payment
All payments are processed securely through our third-party payment provider (Stripe). Prices are shown in U.S. dollars (USD) and applicable sales tax may be added at checkout. By purchasing a package, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method.

6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Record, distribute, or publish lesson content without explicit written consent from the teacher;
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harassing, or harmful purpose;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems;
- Contact teachers off-platform to circumvent the Service's payment system.
7. Intellectual Property
All content provided by us — including lesson materials, branding, software, and the platform itself — is owned by Learn English with Moody or its licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use it for your own learning. Materials shared by your teacher remain their property.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time from your dashboard. Unused, paid lesson credits are subject to the Refund Policy.
9. Disclaimer and Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable U.S. law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Learn English with Moody operates, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that state, except where applicable consumer protection laws give you the right to bring a claim in your home state.
